Sei NEI til Microsoft Office-formatet som ISO-standard

Eg ber landsmedlemmane av ISO røyste «NEI» i røystinga over ISO DIS 29500 (Office OpenXML eller OOXML-formatet) av følgjande grunnar:

  1. Standarden ISO26300, kalla Open Document Format (ODF), finnast allereie. To standardar kostar meir og gjev meir utryggleik og forvirring for industrien, styresmaktene og innbyggjarane.
  2. Det finnast ingen prov for ei implementering av OOXML-spesifikasjonen: Microsoft Office 2007 nyttar ei særskild utgåve av OOXML, og er ikkje eit filformat som stemmer overeins med OOXML-spesifikasjonane.
  3. Det manglar informasjon i dokumentasjonen, til dømes: Korleis utførast autoSpaceLikeWord95 (automatisk mellomrom som i Word 95) eller useWord97LineBreakRules (nytt reglane for linjeskift frå Word 1997).
  4. Meir enn 10% av dømene som nemnast i standardframlegget er ikkje i gyldig xml.
  5. Det finnast ingen garanti for at nokon kan lage program som, heilt eller delvis, implementerer OOXML-standarden utan å risikere å gjere patentbrot eller verte påført lisensavgifter frå Microsoft.
  6. Dette standardframlegget er i konflikt med andre ISO-standardar, til dømes ISO 8601 (visning av dato og klokkeslett), ISO 639 (kodek for å vise språk og namn) eller ISO/IEC 10118-3 (kryptografiske strengar)
  7. Det er ein feil i filformatet til reiknearket som gjer det umogleg å leggje inn datoar før 1900. Slike feil påverkar både sjølve OOXML-spesifikasjonen og ulike programversjonar, som Microsoft Excel 2000, XP, 2003 or 2007.
  8. Dette standardframlegget har ikkje kome til ved å samle røynsler og sakkunnskap frå alle parthavarar (som til dømes tilverkarar, selgjarar, kjøparar, brukarar og reguleringsmakter), men er laga av Microsoft aleine.
