BoycottNovell blog is pointing to a vote on the editor for ODF-OOXML Convergence project inside SC34. Guess who was proposed as editor:
Here is the recommendation from Canada: John Weigelt, National Technology Officer for Microsoft Canada.
Germany put down Mario Wendt of Microsoft Deutschland. Mario also attended the horrific BRM in Geneva.
Let's ask OASIS to put the maintenance ODF in ISO :-):
Microsoft will join the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS) technical committee working on the next version of ODF and will take part in the ISO/IEC working group being formed to work on ODF maintenance. Microsoft employees will also take part in the ISO/IEC working group that is being formed to maintain Open XML and the ISO/IEC working group that is being formed to improve interoperability between these and other ISO/IEC-recognized document formats.
The editor of OOXML was also a Microsoftie. The world is small.
