Bad surprise in Microsoft Office binary documents : interoperability remains impossible
It rebutts some of the claims Microsoft is making with :
- the direct availability of some of the binary document specifications
- the open source project (Feb 15) meant to migrate binary files
It urges ISO national bodies to take these actions with a grain of salt and instead to require Microsoft to open up the source code of the Microsoft Office compatibility pack since it's a better proposition for third-parties.
