Andy Updegrove, on his Standards Blog, is giving us news on the process in the US. We can expect some of the following companies:

1. Apple, Inc.
2. EMC²
3. Farance, Inc.
4. Hewlett-Packard
5. IBM
6. Intel
7. Lexmark
8. Microsoft
9. Oracle
10. Sony Electronics

to be on Microsoft's side. But which ones? Intel, HP and Apple probably?

Any one of these companies, with the exception of Microsoft (who has no shame), should be ashamed to vote for a spec as flawed as OOXML. I think it would reflect badly on the ability of their engineers to recognize and produce quality consumer products. Additionally, it calls into question the integrity of companies to vote to pass as an open standard, one that clearly isn't, and even more so with a respectable and extensible truly open ISO document standard in existance.
