The mask has slipped and the nature of this particular war is on display."

Tsilas should know that it would be very simple to resolve problems:
- get a better patent model than the OSP which is clearly applicable on a workdwide scale and get SUN and others on board
- take the lessons from the German converter study and adapt OOXML accordingly
- add ODF import filters to Office09
- provide a real converter, no not-so-clever-age approach.
- permit OOXML implementations under the GPL.
- document the API as as well
- specify VBScript and VBA
- add the full legacy format binary specification as an informative annex.
- follow the French proposal and draft a new format that integrates ODF.
- provide the Office2007 source code under a shared license and port the application to Linux
All of this would not cost too much and satisfy most of us.

"They are doing this [=opposing OOXML] because it is advancing their business model. Over 50 percent of IBM's revenues come from consulting services."
