That is a bit unfair. The countries' comments were certainly addressed, whether they were addressed adequately is another question. The reason the release says the thing about the ECMA response is that we want people to have read what the ECMA document says before making a submission.

NSAI (the Irish national standards body) has posted an invitation for comments on its site regarding the proposed new Office Open XML. NSAI suggests the ECMA document answered the objections made.

Submissions are invited, which, to ensure that they can be considered as input to the advisory report to establish NSAI's position, should be transmitted no later than 11 July 2007 for the attention of Dr. Ian Cowan at NSAI, Glasnevin, Dublin 9 or by email at ei.iasn|nawoc.nai#ei.iasn|nawoc.nai.
